We wanted to share our sincere and overwhelming gratitude with each of you for helping to make the Mother to Mother Luncheon a truly special and blessed event for 130 mothers of children with autism. You played a unique part in helping the luncheon come to life! Thank you for your monetary donations, gifts of time, gifts of talents, gifts of energy, and the gifts of your support and encouragement. Everything you gave to make this day successful was appreciated more than words can express.
Thanks to those that made the luncheon on Saturday, April 24, 2010 possible! Also thanks to Living Water Community Church for hosting the event in their beautiful church!
How the Mother to Mother Luncheon Got Started
In 2007, several mothers (and a grandmother too!) of children impacted by autism in the Central Pennsylvania area felt there was a need in our community to reach out to other mothers. In an effort to both explore and support the connection between a mother's faith and her journey of raising a child on the autism spectrum, the Mother to Mother Luncheon was created.
On a beautiful Saturday in April 2007, the Colonial Park United Methodist Church hosted the first Mother to Mother Luncheon where 128 mothers of children impacted by autism were seated at tables set with the finest china, served an outstanding meal by a local chef, treated to a guest speaker and performances by a local liturgical dance group, and also received many surprises and gifts throughout the afternoon.
We are again excited to be hosting this FREE luncheon for 130 mothers of children with autism on Saturday, April 24, 2010. If you are a mother of a child on the autism spectrum we invite you to share in this day of networking, relaxation, worship, fun and surprises!
